DS compatible Mode 2 mobile charger / Notladekabel that will charge the Type 2 socket DS EV at 16A. This mobile charging cable will provide the Type 2 socket DS EV with up to 3,7kW when connected to a 16A Schuko socket. This is equivalent to approximately 15 to 25 kM of charge per hour.

If you plan to charge your vehicle regularly using a standard Schuko socket, we recommend our adjustable current Schuko charger, which has an integrated sensor that provides DC current detection equivalent to a Type B RCD and an optional temperature sensor in the plug. This charger is also available with lengths of 7.5 metres, 10 metres and 15 metres.

Please note that the unit box of this 16A fixed amp charger is IP65. This means that the unit box should be sheltered during heavy rain or snow. If you are placing the control box outdoors, we recommend the IP67 waterproof option that is available for the adjustable current Schuko charger.

Verwenden Sie eine Außensteckdose? Wenn Sie die Steuerbox im Freien an einem ungeschützten Ort aufstellen, empfehlen wir Ihnen, das Ladegerät auf ein Gerät mit Schutzklasse IP67 aufzurüsten. Für einen Aufpreis von 35 € (exkl. MwSt.) senden wir Ihnen ein Ladegerät mit einer Steuerbox, die bis zu 30 Minuten lang in ungesalzenem Wasser getaucht werden kann und somit einen verbesserten Schutz bei widrigen Wetterbedingungen wie starkem Regen oder Schnee bietet. Das Ladegerät mit Schutzklasse IP67 hat die gleichen Spezifikationen wie unsere Ladegeräte mit Schutzklasse IP55 und IP65, verfügt jedoch zusätzlich über einen Temperatursensor im 2-poligen Stecker. Dies hilft, thermische Schäden zu vermeiden, wenn Ihre Steckdose überhitzt.
Mit der Halterung kann das Gehäuse des Ladegeräts an einer Wand befestigt werden, beispielsweise in einer Garage. Die Halterung für das IP67-Gehäuse kann an einer Außenwand befestigt werden. Es wird jedoch nicht empfohlen, Ladegeräte dauerhaft im Freien aufzubewahren, da die Gefahr besteht, dass Wasser in den Typ-2-Stecker eindringt.

Use a 16A Type F Schuko Socket To Charge All Type 2 Socket DS EV’s With A 2-Pin Plug Schuko Charger.

This mobile charger is capable of charging the DS EV up to 16A, providing approximately 3,7kW of power.

Simply plug in the charger to a standard 2-pin Type F, E or C 16A socket. Then connect the vehicle plug into the vehicle to start charging. We recommend this type of charger only to be used for emergency charging.

If you are going to charge your DS EV for prolonged periods with a 16A Schuko socket, then we recommend our adjustable current charger. This type of charger allows charging at the recommended current of 10A, which helps to avoid heat stress on the Schuko socket.

Additionally, the adjustable current feature allows the vehicle to lower the current as well.

The variable current charger includes AC and DC current protection and has a timer that allows delayed charging from 1 to 10 hours. There is also an option for a waterproof enclosure and a temperature sensor inside the Schuko plug to help prevent the Schuko socket overheating.

Even though Schuko chargers are capable of charging safely at 16A, the recommended rate of charging is 10A. Charging at 10A significantly reduces the risk of the Schuko socket overheating.

Choosing The Right Charger

The DS electric vehicle has a Type 2 socket as standard, ensuring compatibility with this charger.

Charging an EV for long periods with a 16A Schuko socket may cause thermal damage to the socket. For instance, the socket may overheat in cases where it has damaged or faulty wiring, or when the electrical circuit is overloaded. It is rare, but it does happen.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that an electrician inspects the Schuko socket to certify its suitability for charging your vehicle.

We understand that, at times, you might be charging your vehicle with a socket that has not been certified by an electrician. In such instances, we recommend the variable amp charger as it provides additional protection for the Schuko socket.

It is also a good idea to check, after a few hours of charging, that both the plug and socket are not becoming excessively hot during charging.

Do not an extension lead or adapter with this mobile charging cable. Plug the charger directly into the socket. Ensure that water does not come into contact with the Schuko plug or the Type 2 plug, and keep the charger dry when not in use. Before connecting the charger to the DS EV, be sure to read the user booklet included with the charger.

How Waterproof Is This Mobile Charging Cable?

This charger consists of four main components: the Schuko plug, the cable, the control box (unit), and the Type 2 plug.

Schuko Plug: The plug should be safe from water if you are plugging it into an indoor socket. If you are using an outdoor socket, the Schuko plug needs to be protected and you should therefore use a weatherproof socket.

Cable: The cable is waterproof as long as there are no cuts or tears in the cable sheath.

Control Box: The standard control box is IP65-rated. This rating means that the control box can withstand light rain. If you are placing the control box outside, you can select the option to upgrade to the IP67-rated control box. This rating means that the control box is fully weatherproof.

Type 2 Plug: The Type 2 plug is built with an outer shell that is designed to withstand rain and snow when connected to the vehicle socket. The vehicle socket is also designed to be watertight and should therefore provide protection from water ingress when the Type 2 plug is connected.

A common way for water to enter the Type 2 plug is when the plug cap is replaced after charging. The plug cap must always be replaced after charging your vehicle, but do ensure that the inside of the plug cap is dry. Avoid leaving the plug lying around outside, do not drag or drop the Type 2 plug on the ground and store the charger in a dry place when not in use.

Choice Of Cable Bags

We provide a free canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 15M) to store this charger when not in use. You can also upgrade the bag to a cable case made from EVA material for enhanced waterproofing and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top. So it allows convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can therefore carry 2 cables if each cable does not exceed 10 metres length (20M total length).
